So after a fun and exciting day riding the mountain slopes you can pull out a blanket and relax while enjoying one of our many live shows and events. Many famous live bands are always coming to visit. And the nightlife there is just beautiful.
As far as the ski resorts you will actually be very surprised to find how soft the powder is on the slopes. Some of the best riders in the world visit these mountains because of the soft fluffy white powder. There are also many ski programs for kids and adults to train you to become an effective ski or snowboarder.
I am thinking of trying skiing or snowboarding for the first time…What can I expect?
Be prepared to be hooked for a lifetime ~ skiing and snowboarding although different, both provide a satisfying and energizing experience. The thrill of sliding down pristine snow covered slopes with magical views can only be described as life changing.
First Timers (Level 1) meet at the California Base Lodge, top of the Gondola or the Boulder Base Lodge. Sessions are 2 hours and 45 minutes and meet at two convenient times during the day: 10 AM and 1 PM. Cost includes limited access ticket, and ski or snowboard equipment.
Studies have shown that folks who participate in multi-day programs learn faster and enjoy the sport more.
As far as the nightlife of Lake Tahoe there are casinos in Lake Tahoe ski resort that are open 34 hours a days so that you can play the slots all night. If you are not much of a gamer there are also fine dining and live bands and shows calendar, to help keep track of all of the popular and upcoming broadways and musicals from plays and dancing to rock bands.
Another reason why people love to come to Lake Tahoe is the clean atmosphere. Lake Tahoe wants a clean environment. Especially because of the beauty that is held from the lake to the peak of the mountains. Lake Tahoe has won many environmental awards for keeping a healthy and clean environment.

Heavenly received a Mountain Sports Media 2002 Silver Eagle Award in Environmental Excellence for Visual Impact for Heavenly’s Gondola, a low-profile lift designed and built to minimize environmental and visual impacts.
Heavenly received a Mountain Sports Media 1995 Silver Eagle Award in Environmental Excellence for its Galaxy Flat wetland project, in which Heavenly created an entirely new seven-acre wetland habitat near the East Peak Lake. The first high-altitude wetland ever created (at 8,500 feet), the maturing wet meadow has increased wildlife diversity and provided a natural filtration system for snow run-off.
In 1995, Heavenly received an erosion control award from the Tahoe Regional Planning Agency for the installation of a comprehensive storm water treatment system and receiving wetland for storm water run-off from the California Main Lodge and parking lot.
Heavenly received the 1993 Business of the Year Award from the Lake Tahoe Rim Trail Association, recognizing Heavenly’s efforts to support the building and maintenance of the Tahoe Rim Trail.
