Tahoe Shopping
Lake Tahoe Shopping
Lake Tahoe is a mountain recreation paradise of the Western United States and the world, but even the most adventurous of us need a minute to settle down, relax and go shopping. That or we just need a chance to re stock on bikes, boats and skis before heading back out to the trails and beach.
Either way, as a major resort vacation destination, Lake Tahoe has almost every commercial convenience and amenity of a major city within close reach of the most remote back country adventures.
All around Lake Tahoe you can find unique treasures in boutiques and shops, shop for designer clothing and original artwork, test the latest ski, snowboard and cycling gear or dine at gourmet restaurants. From international chains to local art fairs, Tahoe is a great place for shopping.
North Lake Tahoe
Tahoe City and The Truckee River corridor offer a lot of great recreation from easy access to four major ski resorts to leisurely picnics on the Lake Tahoe Shore. But stroll around town for just a few minutes and you’ll find some of the coolest shops in the area.

If you’re in Tahoe and you need to upgrade your hard drive or grab a case of Red Bull, Reno has a Best Buy and a Costco, as well as a Whole Foods, two malls and an REI store.
Near downtown Reno is a great cluster of boutiques and shops in old buildings and quiet streets, reminiscent of Hayes Valley or Haight-Ashbury of San Fransisco. Nearby in downtown Reno there are shops, cafes, restaurants, bars and antique stores. Reno is a great shopping stop for a quiet afternoon on your vacation.
